Ian E. Welch

Ian E. Welch has built his career in the energy sector over the past thirty five years. He has held several leadership roles in the company, and has been the Managing Director of PCS Nitrogen Trinidad Limited for over 17 years overseeing the operations of one of the largest petrochemical manufacturing complexes here in Trinidad, and one of the largest in the world.
Ian is committed to the service of his country and believes that helping others is everyone’s fundamental responsibility. He is a leader among peer groups as measured by growth, operating income, working capital, cash flow and human resource development.
Ian holds an Honours Degree in Applied Science, and Chemical Engineering from the University of Windsor, Canada, and his executive development program was done at Columbia University in New York.
Ian served as President of the Trinidad and Tobago Chamber of Industry and Commerce, Chairman of the Regulated Industries Commission, and as Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee – Cricket World Cup 2007, and on the Board of UTT.
In addition to serving on his Company’s Board, Ian also served as Chairman of the Point Lisas Energy Association of CEOs, a Director at Ansa Merchant Bank Trinidad Limited and the National Energy Skills Centre.
Internationally, Ian is an active member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers serving on the Board of its Safety in Ammonia Plants and Related Industries Committee.
